We discovered Cacoon chairs at ICFF in New York earlier this year and knew immediately we had to have them. They're a cross between a hanging chair and a hammock, for use indoors and out, and are durable, packable, water repellent, stylish, and affordable. Done.
These chairs were designed and developed by British husband and wife team Nick and Sarah McDonald. The McDonalds are sailmakers by trade and after seeing the elegant shape of the hanging nests created by Weaver birds while on vacation in Mexico, they took their knowledge of fabric and design to recreate the shelters.
Cacoon chairs are available in three sizes: bonsai (for children), single (for one adult), and double (for two); each is capable of holding 440 pounds.
